How to Set Up Your Business Google Plus Page
Google+ is one of the fastest growing social media sites, so you’re missing out if your business doesn’t have a profile. In fact, Google+ has opened the door for many businesses, especially in a local sense. Fortunately, creating a profile doesn’t take much time, but the details make a difference.
Here’s how to set up your Business Google Plus page for your brand.
(Note: You must first have a Google account set up, which you can make by signing up on the main Google+ page. If you already have an account, simply choose Create a Page to get started.)
Choose a Category
When you create your page, you will need to select a category. The options include:
- Local business or place
- Product or brand
- Company, institution or organization
- Arts, entertainment or sports
For a Local Business Google Plus page, you will be asked to choose your location, so please do so. You can then add your company’s contact information, which is essential for when local customers want to find your business.
Add Your Info
The information that is used to fill out your company’s info includes:
- Business name
- Who your page will be visible to
- Product or brand
Regarding the product and brand section, you will enter your page name and website, as well as the category that it fits under.
(Note: There are some differences depending on the category that is chosen.)
Customize Your Profile
Now it’s time to make your profile unique. Select a photo – for brands, it’s best to stick to your logo to keep things consistent. Also add a tagline, which are the 10 best words that describe your business.
Edit Your Profile
Before you share your profile with others, you’ll need to edit some information. Do this by clicking on the Profile icon, then About, then Edit. Here, you can customize everything you want, so be sure to take the time to include the following:
- Website URL
- Contact info
- Additional links to your page
- Links to other important pages, such as Facebook and your blog
Add five photos in your Photostrip to be displayed underneath your page’s tagline.
Now it’s time to follow and engage with friends! Have fun!
